I had the same problem with the Realtek Audio Driver, and had downloaded the recommended update a few times (at 274mb per time!) and was going to follow the directions given above, but a page with the option to test for latest update came up, so I did that and it said that I had the correct software for my computer. I'm no IT expert (far from it) but perhaps the update notice I received wasn't really relevant or necessary for my computer. It said that the device I had was working properly. Maybe that's why it wouldn't finish installing.
